We held our second annual Vacation Bible School on the farm from August 5-16, 2013 for the children in the local community of Tom’s Hope and its surrounding areas.
Approximately 80 children/young adults (aged 2 – 20 years old) attended VBS from 9 am – 1 pm each day. We also had an adult class the first week which was attended by 21 adults. The children and adults learned about the Fruit of the Spirit outlined in Galatians 5:22-23 (“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law.”) Each day was filled with worship time, songs, Bible lessons, games, crafts, lunch and on Friday afternoons, going to the river. Each Friday, the parents were invited to join the children for lunch and river fun.
We are grateful to those who volunteered as Bible teachers and cooks as well as the farm staff who served as lifeguards on Friday afternoons when the children went to the river to play in the waterfall and pools.
We are especially thankful to John Ford and Ken Haller who came down from Florida to teach the adult class.
